Greetings From: London!

I was recently in London for a bit and visited some great places and had a ton of excellent meals.  I thought I’d share a list of my favorites. Here is my (rather belated) guide to noteworthy spots in London.

Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar at Harrod’s
This place is all about the atmosphere which is pure posh.  The giant yellow 1950s style Veuve fridge and matching throw pillows made me very happy.  One day I’d like to design a sitting room in my house to look just like this lounge area.  I’d be sure to have Veuve chilling nearby, always ready for impromptu celebrations.

Scandinavian Kitchen
As a Scandi-phile I was elated when I saw this place pop up on a google map while looking for walking directions.  It ended up being right on my route to breakfast so I stopped in to see what they had to offer.  There were tons of fun Scandi treats so I bought a few to send home to my Finnish grandma.

The Chapel
This spot is a regular haunt for my colleagues as it is just a block from our hotel.  It has a great, relaxed atmosphere and  if I could I’d transport it to my neighborhood I’d visit at least once a week.  I had an unbelievably delicious risotto and the best Pimm’s cup of the trip here.

Elliot’s Cafe
This is an adorable spot that looks out to Borough Market.  I had a perfect casual lunch of  local cider and a burger that tasted just like French onion soup.  Yum!  I was drawn in by the black and white striped awning and squealed in delight when I made my way downstairs to the wall to wall black and white striped bathroom.

Hendrick’s Gin “Unusual Umbrella Emporium”
Although I am not a big fan of gin I do have several friends who are.  I stopped in to this location in the Seven Dials out of curiosity and it was indeed a very unique and unusual spot.  I wished I loved gin as they were giving out free drinks, but I was able to score a small souvenir for a friend.  Apparently I had great timing as it seems this was only a pop-up storefront for cocktail week.

Perrier-Jouet  Champagne Bar at Harvey Nichols
I had a great night out here with colleagues after wrapping up our work week.  The drinks were fantastic and the decor reminded me of a Doris Day movie.  I also enjoyed a delicious meal with an amazing view at the attached restaurant a few nights prior.

Kopapa
I had a delicious brunch here the morning I left.  I loved the Seven Dials and had to visit one last time before I flew home.  The place is bright and cheery and the waitstaff was super friendly and attentive.  My ricotta fritters and latte were perfection and the best way to end my trip.

I had an excellent time and can’t wait for my next London trip so that I  can visit these spots again.

Cheers!

A
