Books for Fall

Fall is always my favorite book season — so many great titles are released during this time of year. There’s something about this season that turns me into a homebody in a big way. Suddenly I realize my apartment needs to be cozier so I change up the linens on our bed, drape my favorite wool blankets over the couches, start baking bread (because any excuse to turn on the oven and warm up the house is fine by me), and then I stock up on reading material and stay inside.

My book choices this fall are very indicative of my state of mind. I’ve definitely been focused on food, but I promise all of the food books are different. I’m not just interested in food, I’m reading about some fascinating people, too. I love Joan Didion, she handles difficult subject matter with such grace. Diana Vreeland is certainly more interesting than most everyone. A compilation of writers talking about their friends and friendships, why not? And since I’m still trying to make my house feel just right, some guidance from the founding editor of Domino Magazine.

Happy reading,

K
