Cookie Party

I was thinking about hosting a big holiday party this year but I was slow to commit, and suddenly all the good dates and times have been claimed by other parties (that I am happy to attend).  I’ve decided to host a very small cookie decorating party instead. It’s going to be a breeze compared to the fancy soiree I was thinking of having. The only hassle is that I don’t have an electric mixer of any kind (stand or handheld) so I’ll be whipping up royal icing and creaming butter and sugar by hand. (Ouch, my arms!) Anyway, a few lovely ladies are coming over for this cookie bash and I am super excited. I’m planning to have a fun drink and some savory snacks on hand. Other details: We may or may not listen to holiday music; we may or may not dress up; we will definitely be wearing aprons.

I’ve rounded up some essential items for a holiday cookie party, electric mixers not included. Here they are:
Simple mugs for festive drinks
Cheerful paper straws
The perfect dish for displaying cookies
Snowflake sprinkles
Peppermint sprinkles
A timer
Pastry bags for precise icing application
Cookie cutters
An apron that you’re sure to wear any time of year

Hope your holiday celebrations are delightful!
