Night Picnics

When the weather is warm out, my favorite thing to do is to pack a picnic and enjoy the night sky with a loved one. Night picnics are similar to day picnics in a few ways: you need a blanket, a basket, and food. The main difference is the type of food you pack. For daytime picnics, you can pack the usual sandwiches, salads, cheese and cold meats. With night picnics, you can elevate your meal and pack something more substantial. Just make sure that the dishes you serve can be served cold or at room temperature, and that you have the proper utensils packed.

Here are some recipe suggestions for your next night out:

Pasta with Goat Cheese, Lemon and Asparagus

Chilled Avocado Soup with Breadcrumbs

Summer Squash Carpaccio

Arugula and Bacon Quiche

A selection of high quality cheeses, seasonal fruits, and sufficient champagne
